Stimulation cycle

Cycle tracking and planned intercourse

The progression of the menstrual cycle can be disrupted by dysregulation of the hormonal balance. When this occurs, ovarian follicles do not mature properly, and in some cases spontaneous ovulation does not happen.

If the cycle is disrupted, hormones are required for the development of ovarian follicles.

Hormones like clomifene are generally used here. But hormonal injections with follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which also triggers follicle development in a normal cycle, can also be used. Follicle ripening is monitored using ultrasound and hormone testing, and ovulation is subsequently initiated. This means that the optimal timing for intercourse during ovulation can be selected.
