Idiopathic sterility

Infertility with no apparent cause

For some couples, no cause for their lack of pregnancy can be found despite comprehensive diagnostics. This infertility is then called idiopathic sterility, which means it is not attributable to an identifiable condition. The number of couples with idiopathic sterility is continuously decreasing as research advances are made and more and more underlying disorders are identified. Today, the figure is approx. 10%.
